General nim interactive #8

Please can we have a general nim interactive? Ideally it would allow a user to play against the computer or against another user.
Ideally it would be designed so you could play:

  1. with counters (any number of piles and each pile containing any number of counters), simplest version being like Nim-7 (id 1204), but being adaptable like (id 1274), also being able to play Last Biscuit (id 2656)
  2. with numbers like Got It (id 1272)
  3. with a particular spatial arrangement, like a spiral (see Liz) and something like Slippery Snail (id 1210)

No idea if I've given you enough info here or whether this is feasible in terms of being different 'views' of the same interactive

Also from Liz:

Spec for three interactive, ideally to be played against the computer or another user (all are two-player games) The three are linked by their strategy - each one involves making symmetrical moves The three sit in the strategy games 'pathway' in addition to various nim-type games

  1. Kayles/skittles

Line up of wooden pins/skittles standing side by side, equally spaced Players take it in turns to throw a ball, which either knocks over a single skittle or two that are standing next to each other (ball always hits the skittle/skittles, players can't miss) Winner is the player who knocks over last skittle/s.

Please could user be able to select number of skittles e.g. from 1 to 20??

In fact, perhaps this could be created from the nim interactive already mentioned??

  2. Chomp Rules are described at http://plus.maths.org/content/mathematical-mysteries-chomp

There’s a lovely and very simple argument showing that the first player can always win, but the winning strategy is unknown! So getting people to think about this game strategically gets them straight into an unsolved problem.

For certain versions of chomp (“square” and “thin”), however, the winning strategy is known and can be easily described (see http://plus.maths.org/content/os/issue14/xfile/solutions).

Please could an interactive be created in which the user can select the size of the grid. In my head, it would be nice to be able to select a cookie and then be shown all the cookies that will be taken away before they actually disappear.

  3. Cram See rules at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cram_(game)

Would be good to have an interactive for rectangular boards, which could be altered in terms of size.
