Filament Sensor reconsideration #8

Hi,

i think it's might be worth a while to reconsider the filament sensor component in the new triple decky with sensors.

i think that the proposed solution of 2 printed parts with the magnet could be a bit over engineering.

i had great success with the cotton tale sensors (with the bearing ball and the micro switch) by adding a printed spacer between the ball and the micro switch.

i have printed one for each gate and had 100% accurate results.

This the model i created is as follows: image Untitled Untitled

I had bad experiences with CT sensor style. Lots of false triggering. On future versions, the magnet could be replaced by something else, but not a ball.

maybe something like the Prusa filament sensors? prusasensor_anim

i just think that the current solution with the printed parts the wear will be noticeable very quick

If there is a notch in the filament. The sensor should not see it. That is the main problem of all the sensors that are below the filament. They are just unusable, unless you disable all the sensors when you print. But then you can't use end of spool. On this one I don't know in which plane the sensor is.
