JST PH2.0 Connectors for filament sensors #9

It's still a work in progress but i thought about making the filament sensor as a complete unit with JST PH2.0 connector.

i modeled something but it's in the very early stage. the idea is to have the filament switch and the JST connector coupled together on a cover plate and when closed the whole switch and jst are fixed in place. the connector it from the bottom to allow the springiness of the wires to "help" the magnet and prevent it from sinking.

The idea is not bad, but I think you will have interferences with the latch. My experience has proven that sometime you need to be abel to diconnect the switch easily. So for me XT connector are not ok. They will be difficult to remove. Especially under the filament path. I will stay with Dupont.

the whole idea of the JST PH2.0 connectors is that they are easily detachable, but does provide some locking mechanism so they wont fall off like a Dupont may.

Dupont are great for prototyping and breadboards but i think that in "production" it will be better to have something more standard which will make sure the cable stays connected.

I never had dupont disconnecting themselves. You will not have enough access to disconnect the JST. at least on my setup.
