Yes, cycles are pretty opaque to me:
Sometimes I stop the pomodoro timer when I'm doing a longer break (e.g. lunch). Afterwards I don't feel like taking a longer break shortly after working for 1-2 pomodori (e.g. I completed 3 cycles before lunch).
Of cource I can continually change the "long break" to "short break" but I find that very annoying. In that situation (and others) I like to reset the cycle count by some way. Even if this means just quiting the app.
Any updates or workaround for this issue?
It seems like a trivial nuance but the issue is actually a great deal if one is way into the Pomodoro technique.
Seems so, no response from developer, I hope it's on his to-do list.
I've just started using this app again after a few years, and this still seems to be the case.
I'd really like to be able to reset the cycle, or choose where to start in it.
I have been using this web app:
I will probably go back to using it until GNOME Pomodoro has a way to reset the cycle.
maybe as a workaround something like : (maybe keys have changed, i tried on ubuntu 18.04)
# exit pomodoro to avoid race
$ gsettings reset org.gnome.pomodoro.state timer-score
$ gsettings reset org.gnome.pomodoro.state timer-elapsed
$ gnome-pomodoro
?
just set long break to 5 minutes and decide on your own how long you want to stay in long break.
I quit pomodoro, restart it again next day and after the first 25 minutes it offers a long break. This seems to be utterly counter intuitive and there is no simple button to reset the cycle. It should be very simple, isn't it? How do you actually reset the cycle?
