Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Ability for a plugin to get a copy of the current scrollback

Describe the solution you'd like I'm coming from mrxvt, which I have a shortcut defined that opens up a new tab with the current scrollback of my terminal tab and fires up my favorite editor containing the scrollback

seems gtk vte can't get scrollback anymore select all, copy all plugins also broken

as a temp workaround, have to use the old version of libvte https://launchpad.net/~nrbrtx/+archive/ubuntu/vte
