If you unchecked "Custom font" in profile settings, then it depends on which monospaced font is used in the DE settings. Check it out.

If "Custom Font" is unchecked you have to check font settings in your Desktop Environment. There are must be a set of default fonts. For example in XFCE:
It could be so that field with font name is empty or with non-installed font.
I had to rollback Monospace text to Monospace Regular It was SF Pro Display Regular earlier Solved finally
