sHi, In 2023 I do have plans to support new models. I already have a few ones planned, but I can consider to take more o swap some of them if the community has a lot of interests in some specific models.

So, Is your router in the list below?

ax53 won't be supported Because it is a MediaTek MT7621AT router which is not a Broadcom device.

These devices would be perfect as a media bridge, but this mode is missing from the stock firmware (it only supports repeater/ap/router modes). So if your fork is able to add this functionality it would add a whole new usecase for them, because lots of features are stripped in the current fw.

RT-AX82U V2 (The only diff from V1 I could find is switch to BCM6715X chip (pin to pin BCM43684)) On the ASUS support page and in webui it's shown as just RT-AX82U without version, but your fork can't be installed on it.

Hi @gnuton: Is this model supported? DSL-AC68VG It seems to be a german version of the DSL AC68, right? Latest official firmware is v5.00.09 build274 (Aug. 13, 2021)

And in case you support htis model. Would it have OpenVPN 2.4.x or newer version?

Hi! The supported TUF-AX300 is v1 or v2? Is it the same hw as the RT-AX3000/RT-AX-58U v1 or v2? If you drop the support for RT-AX58U, then will you drop TUF-AX3000 too? Do you have plans with RT-AX57? Thanks

It supports TUF-AX3000 v1 only for now. And it is not the same as RT-AX58U. The Merlin already supports RT-AX58U v1. https://www.asuswrt-merlin.net/

TUF-AX5400 v2. ASUS updated this model in February. All past gnuton merlin firmware cannot support this model right now.

This would be Great! as I have just upgraded from an old RT-AC68U to the XD4 (ZenWiFi AX Mini) and what im missing is the openvpn KillSwitch - as im using this for a VPN and want it to kill the connection if it goes down

any idea if you will be supporting it @gnuton ???

The TUF-AX3000 v2 has great hardware specs for a middle level model and would be a nice addition to the Merlin-Gnuton family. For a reasonably priced 2x2 router, it has a 1.7 MHz quad core CPU, 2.5 Gbps WAN, and supports 160 MHz channel width. The stock firmware needs the Merlin-Gnuton touch.

Latest build is ASUS TUF-AX3000 V2 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22525.

The only difference is 5G band chip changes from BCM46384 (QPF 4516) to BCM6715 (QPF 4516). CPU does not change, still BCM 6750. I can only find detailed info in a Chinese test review: https://www.koolcenter.com/posts/262

RP-AC68U Fairly robust repeater. Would be nice to add some additional basics to it. Unlikely to need more than a single release, since it's EOL. (This is in your possible targets list)

I just bought a RT-AXE7800 and discovered no Merlin. Any chance of support. It's a newer ASUS router with WiFi 6e. I am simultaneously trying to return the router too. Better to get GT-AX6000 for its capability and my iPhone doesn't do 6e anyway. But support for RT-AXE7800 would still be nice.

I too would like to see the GS-AX5400 added! I already use the Gundam Edition of RT-AX82U with this branch of Merlin and LOVE it!! Clarifying further, confirming rather - version 3.0.0.4.388_23012-g1166fba is what is currently on my GS-AX5400!

Could I suggest RT-AX53U currently running Firmware Version:[3.0.0.4.386_68691] I am put off trying this sort of firmware because of the high cost or low availability of all the models supported by RMerlin, the cost of failure is too high and I want to be able to see what the alternative software can do for me in dealing with the awkwardness of my ISP. I suspect many more people would join in if a lower entry cost device was available to try out.

I have very confusing information around the internet for this one as its presented as RT-AX56U and/or TUF-AX3000 and whatnot, but no definitive answer if this is supported at all is this supported ?

Mine has been sucking wind. Have to reboot 3x a week. I can't believe how much I spent and then missed the return window.
