PC with VPN auto connect with USA through Router with OpenVPN ON to EU servers. #391

Router Model Affected Models: RT-AX92U

Firmware Version Affected Current Version : 388.2_2-gnuton0_beta2

Is this bug present in upstream Merlin releases too? Yes/No - Idk but possible.

Describe the bug Router with OpenVPN ON - EU server - forcing (?) PC (also with VPN client) to auto connect - time to time - with USA - as the fastest server. Impossible. EU region - many very close servers!

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

  1. Start OpenVPN on router
  2. Power up PC, start vpn client on PC
  3. VPN client for windows on PC auto connecting to USA server as fastest!
  4. tested with NordVPN and ProtonVPN! on router and PC - multiple scenarios (OpenVPN_UDP, OpenVPN_TCP, also like NordLynx (PC) - Time to time it stubbornly trying to connect to US servers!

Expected behavior Connecting to closest fastest server. NOT to US! Its another continent!

Tested with another PC (notebook - wifi - windows 10 - proton client) - same behaviour - on auto - for fastest server - it connecting to US (Texas). Router by openvpn (proton) is connected to EU server.
