Add Mode Method for Series #55

I thought perhaps you will find this useful also and consider merging it in. It may not be exactly finished, and if you do think it is useful, I am happy to improve it based on any suggestions you might have.

@szaydel I'm sorry the long delay in giving you any feedback on this. We are slowly reviving this project. We have a new contributor team on board, which I'm part of, and I just recently started cleaning the outstanding PRs. Are you still willing to work on this?

There are some conflicts with this PR, and since it has not seen any activity for a long time, I'm going to close it. Willing to reopen it if we still want to get this in.
