@fredbi Is this safe to merge? Are we using older versions of otel for a reason? I remember seen some notes about this.

@youyuanwu we can’t merge the otel update since it requires a higher go version

I l’d suggest we upgrade everything to go1.20 niw that go 1.22 is out
