Change User-Agent name for VoIP? #55

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
I'm currently using firmware version 1.5.1.1.

Any chance that the ability to change the User-Agent name, reported to the SIP
server, can be changed?

There are a lot of companies that will grant/deny access (assuming all other
credentials are correct) based on the User Agent string.

This is mainly to prevent people from accidentally connecting through their
corporate VoIP services and causing havoc.

I ask because there are many voip routers, with this feature, that are a
fraction of the cost of this unit.

You can try the 1.5.2 beta r2554
ftp://ftp.draytek.pl/Seria_2130/Firmware/1.5.2_BETA/

The new firmware can change the User-Agent name

uci set voip.sip.user_agent='test'
uci commit voip
uci show voip.sip
...

I just upgraded to 1.5.3, but this feature to change the SIP user agent is not
present.

Also, when I type "uci show voip", from a command prompt (after telnet/ssh'ing
in) I am bombarded with error messages.

When can I expect this feature to be included?
