Slow upload speed #66

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

It seems that the upload is slower using the Vigor 2130 instead of using direct
connection.

If I connect my modem directly to my PC I get the following results (using
speedtest.net):

http://www.speedtest.net/result/1693078041.png

Download: 92.16 Mb/s
Upload: 50.83 Mb/s
Ping: 21 ms

If I connect my modem to the Vigor 2130 the upload speed is very slow compared
with the direct connection:

http://www.speedtest.net/result/1693081999.png

Download: 93.39 Mb/s
Upload: 15.88 Mb/s
Ping: 27 ms

Is this a general issue of the router or are any of my settings incorrect
(Hardware NAT is enabled).

Please check the bandwidth management >> port rate control first
You can try to disable the shaper
The upload speed for single session may not reach the full speed
Try to test with multiple sessions.

I've checked the port rate control settings - policer and shaper are disabled,
I've tried to enable both but this doesn't change anything.

What do you mean with "multiple sessions", I've executed the test serveral
times, and the results are nearly the same?!

About multiple sessions ftp test. you can refer to
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showthread.php?tid=5307

Another config you can try will be:
WAN >> Ports
change the power control ==> disable
change to flow control

Changing WAN >> Ports settings make no difference.

But I tried the multiple session upload test to a FTP server, and I was able to
upload three simultaneous connections with each 2.1 MB/s and that's ok.

So, this issue can be closed.

Thanks for your help!
