Wifi encryption randomly turns off after changing setting via webinterface and reboot. #67

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
0. It is not reproducible per se but it happened
1. Set your Wifi encryption to WPA2-PSK
2. a) change a setting via webinterface
   b) reboot the router

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect my Wifi to stay encrypted, instead it turns into an open network on
occasion.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Firmware Version : v1.5.1
Build Date/Time : Tue May 10 19:32:17 CST 2011

Please provide any additional information below.
The first time this happened it took me an hour to realize because I was using
a cable-connection during that time. This is a HUGE security hole if anyone who
drives by can access your wifi because the router fails to initalize the
encryption.

Model : Vigor2130Vn
Firmware Version : v1.5.2_RC2
Build Date/Time : Mon Feb 20 19:01:52 CST 2012
System Date : Tue May 29 18:45:15 2012
System Uptime : 10days 06:53:27
Issue continues, tried re-install and factory settings reset, it doesn't matter
what encryption setting is chosen, all options in menus look correct however, I
came home to find my PS3 was not able to sign in. As this has happened to me 3
or 4 times in the past, I checked using my laptop only to find the SSID I have
was telling me there was no encryption and my network was open. The PS3 was
trying to send the key and was being rejected. I didn't need to un-check or
re-check any boxes or change anything, I just clicked OK and the router started
using the key it had. This is a major concern, it seems to happen randomly, no
reboots or restarts required, it worked last night, got home, it was off.

I have the exact same problem as reported with the official release firmware
version 1.5.2.

I seem to have the same issue. Ipad regularly not able to connect after a wile.
Initially looking at the ipad to be the culprit but after reading this issue
and upon closer investigation the connection is reported as open so this I
suspect the same issue is hitting my router. Firmware version 1.5.2. And ideed
simply going in the webUI and clicking ok for the Wireless settings is enough.
Then again the ipad presents me with a password for logging in.

I tried the 1.5.3_BETA1 r2824 firmware from:

ftp://ftp.draytek.pl/Seria_2130/Firmware/beta/

and apparently this problem does not exist for this version. Still, this is no
good for me because IPv6 is broken and I cannot receive an IPv6 prefix from my
ISP like I do with version 1.5.2.

Hello panos,

I can't find the 1.5.3 beta firmware on the main server. Is this software in
English or Polish?

You will not find it on the main server because it is a beta firmware. You can
only download it from the link I provided. It is in English.

DrayTek did have earlier beta versions on their main server but apparently they
changed their policy on this. Thank you for providing the link and info on the
language.
