Bittorrent cliens is not enough stable #71

Hi,

I have a Vigor2130Vn model with v1.5.2_RC1L firmware.
I started using Bittorrent cliens but I think it is very unstable.
First of all, after router have a reboot Bittorent software always
start verifying data... Now, I am trying to download a 46GB movies package and
I am playing with this about 2 weeks:

- First case: Allocating disk place -> Downloading -> Reboot -> verifying data
-> lost everything, which was already downloaded.

-Second case: I had a reboot (after using VoIP) then my little Bittorrent
cliens start verifying data again... almost 1 day -> continue downloading.

-Third case (current situation): During night Bittorent cliens stopped -> I
started it -> verifying data (it will take almost another day, and I have
already downloaded only 10,6GB.

BTW during first and second cases nothing other procedure were done, I mean no
other downloading & uploading, no DLNA and VoIP was used, because we were not
at home.

I have a 500GB storage using NTFS filesytem.

Whats your opinion what may be the problem?

And, I read that somebody mentinoed before me about the ridiculous disk
management. Your point was, DrayTek limits USB port speed in this modell. Is
this limitation become from hardware type or software part? If from software,
could You fix this problem in the next firmware revision?

Other thing, internet browser support. Could You improve this part also? If I
open DLNA from windows google chrome, firefox and internet explorer show me
different things. And after installing this new firmware I could install Samba
server only from linux firefox.

Thanks in advance!

BR,
Bálint

If you want the 2130 bt client to do heavy job.
I recommend you to format the disk as linux filesystem (ext2/ext3)

Thanks your answer very much!
Whats your opinion, after formatting my disk to ext filesystem, will it be
more stable?
My vigor is just seeding now and it has almost 10 hours uptime.

*BTW, this 1.5.2 beta firmware has nice new features. I like them! Nice job
guys!*
( When will this 1.5.2 firmware be released? I saw today that on draytek
offical page 1.5.1.2 firmware is exist. )

Thanks your feedback in advance!

Bálint

Format to ext2/ext3 file system will be faster and stable.
NTFS write speed is slow and need more system resource.

FAT32 speed is good but not stable enough if we often reboot router without
unmount the usb disk. It may have problem.

Thanks your quick feedback!

Only one more question? Can I use the built in ext2/ext3 formater or shall
I do any other steps before using it?

You can use built in formatter.
Be sure you have backup the important data in your original disk before
formatting.

Hi,

I formatted a new hard drive and it seems now copying is faster using ext3
filesystem instead of NTFS.

About bittorrent cliens, we will see during long time using. I hope with
this new 1.5.2 RC2 firmware and

ext3 filesystem, it will become more stable then before.

Thanks your help!
