Hard Crash when viewing Long Cutscenes #10

Closed ghost closed 1 year ago

ghost commented 1 year ago

Summary of the Bug: When viewing 6.4 MSQ Cutscenes / Nero & Gaius cutscenes in Praetorium XIV hard crashes to Display Manager on X11 or system freezes on Wayland.

Steps to Reproduce the Bug: On AUR XLCore / Flatpak do not adjust any settings. Load into Praetorium / 6.4 MSQ Cutscenes and observe system freeze / crash.

Expected Behavior: Cutscene works as normal.

Relevant System Information: Up to date XLCore Launcher with WINE Managed by Launcher, 3440 x 1440p Monitor, AMD 7900XTX GPU (with current Mesa in both Arch / Tumbleweed). No WINE log to show, ESync enabled. Occurs on 6.X kernel. WINEDEBUG variable set to -all (as is default).

Workaround: Use Rankyn's Launcher and select RB's Proton 7-36.

Priority: Medium - High depending on if crashing during Praetorium is a TOS offense (skips cutscene and allows combat), Medium for 6.4 MSQ (can rapidly click through cutscene to relevant point crash happened and then enjoy.)

I looked through all logs after crash and could not find anything relevant in any of them. Wine.log in logs folder was empty when viewed with VIM, and dalmud.log had no relevant information.

Wine 8.0 and above works (Rankyn Bass's XIV WINE 8.X works flawlessly). Closing issue since its isolated to Wine 7.0 and RDNA 3. Recommending upgrading default WINE to 8.X.
