Bug Unable to load Xbox Game Pass Save Game (NMS: WORLDS)

Step to reproduce Try to load NMS WORLDS save games from Xbox Game Pass

Description I just bought NMS on GoG and I desperatly try to transfer my save from Xbox Game Pass to GoG. I tried to use many tools, but it seems none are able to read NMS: WORLDS saves from Xbox Game Pass. Do you think you can fix that ?

Can you put the .hg files (from GP savefolder) into the AppData\Roaming\HelloGames\NMS\DefaultUser ? There is where my savefiles are on my GoG installation.

Can this version be used with Expedition 14? It shows that I can't open the archive file in 1.17.1

I'm having the same issue. It's most likely a problem from the most recent patch 5.01.1.

Can you put the .hg files (from GP savefolder) into the AppData\Roaming\HelloGames\NMS\DefaultUser ? There is where my savefiles are on my GoG installation.

xbox gamepass saves aren't stored as .hg files. they are also saved in a different filepath from GoG/Steam.

I downloaded the wrong version before, and now my editor works. So are you an XBOX user? If it says it is not saved as an HG file, you can try changing the suffix of the exported save file and then open it with the editor. I play the game on pc through the microsoft store version, which I own, not through gamepass.

I don't think that changing the suffix and file location will work, as I don't think the microsoft version will recognize the suffix, and it's a problem with any save after 5.0, saves from previous versions work just fine.

I did not ask for nor do I want this. I am saying that I DO have the correct version of the saveeditor, and that it used to be able to read all save files regardless of their format prior to the 5.0 update, and any save post-5.0 cannot be read. regardless of that, I can't even access that google drive file anyway.

Sorry, I use the Steam version, and I can't help you solve your problem. I haven't even used Google Drive.

FYI, I tried using the goatfungus editor and got the same error. I checked Nom Nom save editor. They have an update out which says it reads the new Windows/xbox save game formats. So there's a new save game format which goat fungus can't read, but nom nom can. Nom Nom is working fine but I do prefer to use goatfungus. It's easier to use. So I'll be checking here regularly to see if there's an update.
