Error when moving base computer #213

Open Verdun192 opened 4 years ago

If you decide to bravely move your base computer, beware. It WILL make multiple names in your teleporter. Even though the area may have been destroyed, and the base deleted, you will still be able to teleport there. Examples being

If you moved the base twice, you may have 5 locations of the same base in the editor

Unfortunately, there is no way to change this. So if you did decide to change your base computer, and this has happened to you, you are doomed.

Steps to recreate:

Use the Save Point portable device. The big clunky computer one. Move the computer via editor more than twice (closing the game twice and stuff like that) Building a teleporter for any reason(?) Use the teleporter and check, you will then have 5 locations of the same base. Now its obvious you were save editing!

Unfortunetely, I deleted the base I had leftover, however 2 of the false reads still exist. Here's some screenshots of me looking at them, then teleporting to them. 20190915145515_1 20190915145545_1 Inked20190915145556_1_LI

(apologies but I blurred out the bottom most image as I prefer to keep my dignity.)

You can sorta fix this by deleting the extra entries from TeleportEndpoints, but if you do this for an active base you will still get a listing for that base when you use it's teleporter

Bump.

as @jjh76 mentioned above, you can delete the duplicates from the TeleportEndpoints in the json file.

An easy way to figure out which one is the duplicate is to rename your base, then search for your old base name and delete all entries for it.
