How is this different from canonical alt #686

I ask because I see documentation and practice differences and I am unsure how to sort between the two.

can you provide some specific examples? my guess is that some documentation is out of date, or are there are differences based on preferences. (in the latter case, you can just choose what feels/looks better for you!)
