Zstd 1.5.6 #222

Hm for me https://github.com/facebook/zstd/releases/download/v1.5.6/zstd-1.5.6.tar.gz leads to 404.

A working link seems to be https://github.com/facebook/zstd/archive/refs/tags/v1.5.6.tar.gz.

Although is it an official release? The latest changelog release page points to v1.5.5.

Did you test installing this with Compile? I wonder how the installation with Compile would have succeeded if the link is broken :thinking:

That's quite peculiar? Yes I had run Compile. As of today, I checked the machine, and it shows that version 1.5.6 is installed locally. I'm confused, none of this adds up, but none the less, I will update the link. My apologies

edit: Checked the previous link, https://github.com/facebook/zstd/releases/download/v1.5.6/zstd-1.5.6.tar.gz, and still from both my Linux and Windows machines, it's working perfectly. I'm unsure why it would have lead you to a 404 page.

The previous link should have pointed to the top asset, zstd-5.6.1.tar.gz, in the version's release page.

Hi, you are correct now the link works for me, too :thinking: Also now https://github.com/facebook/zstd/releases shows me the 1.5.6 release... very bizarre. Checked it multiple times before and it wasn´t there. Anyways now it works :)

EDIT: It has been released according to github on Mar 30, 2024, 7:57 PM GMT+1, while I had written my comment Mar 30, 2024, 1:25 AM GMT+1. Maybe they took it out temporarily, or you have been time traveling :smile_cat:
