The charge-limiter app uses bclm
command-line program which currently runs only on intel mac hardware. However, the underlying bclm
command-line program may be able to be upgraded beyond version 0.40 to add support for non-intel apple-silicon macs (like M1, M2, etc), with the issue being tracked here: Implement Apple Silicon Support (there is a way!) #20 Until bclm runs on non-intel apple-silicon, the charge-limiter app will likely not work on non-intel macs. While waiting, you can limit charging on apple sliicon macs with https://github.com/davidwernhart/AlDente-Charge-Limiter/
Is does not work for Macbook Pro M2. I've tested in so many circumstances, but it always charges my laptop to 100%.
