I think the MonoDevelop option is also for Visual Studio for Mac which is not deprecated.

As you said, MonoDevelop still has active forks, so I'd rename the option to "MonoDevelop / Visual Studio for Mac".
The active fork is called DotDevelop

Issue description
In the editor settings, under the last section, Mono, is the option to set an external editor.
First, its not really clear, how that integration works, a tooltip could be handy.
Secondly, and thats the point of this issue; one of the three options is MonoDevelop, which is abandoned since quite some while.
There is a community fork, which may replace it. https://github.com/dotdevelop/dotdevelop
