This is my submission to the 2023 New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival. I am moving discussion of this piece to this new issue.

The piece is currently almost good. Parts are compelling, even spectacular.

• [ ] Too repetitive -- needs more variation. Key, and subtle. Running out of time. Try more holes, or revert to 31 or so.
• [x] The BandedWG instrument is not suitable. Replaced with Harpsichord.
• [x] Try inverting some of the transformations. Inverting doesn't help, but using a smaller scale or larger scale works if done incrementally across all transformations.
• [x] Not only rising treble, but descending bass. Got the rising treble, couldn't seem to get the descending bass, but then I did get it by moving top half up and bottom half down, instead of top half up and bottom half not moving vertically.
• [x] Binary search for best note duration fraction.
• [x] Binary search for best note duration scaling.
• [x] Binary search for best note dynamic range.
• [x] Improve stereo panning.
• [x] At least one treble pad is out of tune, probably STKBowed. Try Shiner? No, using Sweeper.
• [x] Ends on the wrong bass! Hacked it.
• [x] Pairwise against piano, balance all levels. Better arrangement except too shrill at the end.
• [x] Improve Sweeper if possible. Do in patch tester -- I still don't understand how this actually works. Fixed a bit, helps with repetitiveness at end, also.
• [x] Bring instrument patches into .csd file, clean up unused code, format.
• [x] Get Hubert to update program notes in the book.
• [x] Put on DropBox and thumb drive.

I have turned in this piece. My final thoughts:

There is still not enough structure. There needs to be more movement of tempos, ranges, and instrumentation.

I think I may have learned a few things.

I have definitely developed a better working method: save a new variant of the piece for every change in the piece, numbering them e.g. 1, 2, 1.1, 3, 4, 1.1.2, etc. to denote from which variant the next change was made.

Given my listening situation it is essential to listen both on good headphones, and on loudspeakers. I am beginning to dislike my speakers and need new ones, but where should they go, in the country or in the city? In any event they need digital room correction. And I need new and better headphones.
