Hello @SamGreenwood1,
From the readme:
According to our current policy, themes that have not been updated within the last 3 years are deemed outdated and are removed.
The Pico theme was updated around 8 months ago (as of March 2024).
So, we will not remove the Pico theme from our side, even though it has been archived.
Nevertheless, you have raised a valid point. We should improve our policies and explore alternative approaches to deal with archived themes.
Thank you.
@hugo-sid My view is that, if the project has been archived, it should be removed. Hugo moves fast; lack of maintenance just creates user headaches, and consequently, noise and headaches for us.
With a theme that has not been updated in a few months, the author's intent is unclear.
With a theme that has been archived, the author's intent is very clear (i.e., I am not maintaining this anymore).
Thanks for sharing your views @jmooring.
Your concerns are very much valid. Keeping archived theme, adds a lot of maintenance overhead.
I have seen few themes other than the Pico theme which have been archived. I will change the policy on README and remove such themes.
Should it be removed since it's not being supported anymore?
