@Risavk Verilog is really not my stuff either! lol. I'm such a newbie at FPGA. It is just a distraction (and a lot more fun!) than my day job. I'd be interested in seeing your work with VHDL. btw - Have you seen the ULX3S? And yes, you are right - my code leaves a lot of room for improvement. But I'm glad you found some of it useful! And yes, I have some embarrassing code there. At first I thought "oh look, a pull request!"... followed immediately by "oh no, someone is actually looking at my code!" ;) Well anyhow - thank you for the PR and feedback. Cheers
I try to keep away from any startup projects and crowdfunding... But this one is tempting... I had only experience (little as a matter of fact) with xilinx and altera (now intel) FPGAs, but Lattice seems nice. Especialy if crew behind IceStorm isplanning on delivering opensource toolchain for this one too :)
Would be nice to add this board to my collection of DE2, Spartan3an and Maximator :D :D 9 days for decision :P
@Risavk I've had my ULX3S for over a year. I first learned about it via Hackaday. It's a pretty awesome board. I put together this list of project and examples for them: http://ulx3s.github.io/ (I'm an unpaid part of the Radiona team on Crowd Supply; they seem to had drafted me, with all my blogs and such.)
@gojimmypi Heh... I was thinking about it aaaand.. Maybe in future. I've got 2 huge platforms. Just look at altera de2-70 board 50mhz clock, tv decoders, 64Mbyte sdram, fast expansion ports, usb host/slave ... Huge one.... And. I've got no real time to play with it :( :( And Xilinx's Spartan 3AN is somewhat similiar, but little more "crude"... And on top of that i've got maximator board based on Intel/altera max10, with onboard hdmi and which is pin compatible with arduino uno shields..... Waaay more toys then i would imagine... Adding one more would be little overpowering for my small hobby :)
Small disturbance in timespace - normally i don't contribute. But sometimes i can't stop myself. Didn't tested it - but probably should be like proposed :)
