x/tools/cmd/present: poor experience on Android Chrome #7954

by bgarcia@golang.org:

When trying to view a "present" slide deck (e.g.
http://talks.golang.org/2014/c2go.slide), chrome on android attempts to do some
auto-resizing so that three slides are all completely viewable. This makes the slides
very small, and puts a large blank area below the slides.

If I attempt to resize the page (via the two-finger resize gesture), I can attempt to
fix this. But eventually, while swiping the slides left or right, I'll hit the
beginning or end of the deck, and either the slide will be resized, or the current slide
will be partially off-screen.

Labels changed: added repo-tools, release-none, suggested.

Hi Brad,
Could you attach some screenshots? I just tried with my phone and it looks OK.
I admit that the text looks small on portrait orientation, but landscape looks good.
See my screenshots attached:

Comment 3 by bgarcia@golang.org:

First screenshot shows what I see when I first load
http://talks.golang.org/2014/c2go.slide on a Nexus 5.
Second screenshot shows what happens when I resize vertically without paying attention
to left/right position. Swiping from this point keeps the slide split right in the
middle of the screen.
Trying to one-finger reposition the page does nothing but go to the next or previous
slide. Instead, you need to use a two-finger resize to actually move the page.
If I do position a slide in the middle of the page, then things work fine if I swipe to
the left to advance to the next slide. However, if I attempt to slide right to go back
a slide, then the slides are again no longer centered.

Looks like this got worse on chrome+android. Not only I can't zoom out, but also I can't see the full contents of a slide.
