e2g galleriffic slideshow issue #12

hi

I've found myself facing the problem trying to get the "example-5" of the galleriffic slideshow work. here's the thing: I use the very standard snippet call:

[!easy2? &slideshow=galleriffic &ss_config=example-5 &ss_limit=none &resize_type=resize &w=80 &h=80 &ss_w=640 &ss_h=480 &gid=2 !]

or even

[!easy2? &slideshow=galleriffic &ss_config=example-5 &gid=2 !]

Still wouldn't work - any click on the picture (whether it is thumb or "Previous/next" buttons) opens the index page of the site. The only thing that works - is the "Play/Stop Slideshow" button.

What strikes me most is that "example-1" & "example-2" work just fine.

But I really need the 5th variant to work. Can you give me any advise or something? Please

UPD.

"What strikes me most is that "example-1" & "example-2" work just fine."

Well, not exactly "just fine" though better than "exapmle-5"

Ok, here's the thing:

I've downloaded e2g 1.4.9, then installed e2g as was said in the installation readme file. Created a folder, added photos. Called a snippet in a page template (seriously, I've tried all the example variants you gave here: http://virtudraft.com/labs/evo/e2g-test-page/slideshows/galleriffic-with-e2g.html) And guess what?

The only slideshow that looks like workin is contentflow.

Example-1 & Example-2 of galleriffic shows only the big pictures and not showing the thumbs

Example-3 & Example-5 of galleriffic wouldn't work - any click on the picture (whether it is thumb or "Previous/next" buttons) opens the index page of the site. The only thing that works - is the "Play/Stop Slideshow" button.

simplejquery seems to be working but realllyyyyyy slooooow

not smoothgallery nor galleryview are showing anything. empty page.

I'm really sorry. I'm soooo lost. Please help me. Am I missing something?

What might be wrong?

Is it online? Can I see it?

sure:

call: [!easy2? &slideshow=galleriffic &gid=2!] result: http://test.superdino.com.ua/blue.html

thank you so much for your attention!

P.S. don't be harsh on the design - I just got really stuck on slideshow.

cassie-frio commented 13 years ago

so I've been struggling and experimenting, and then destroyed everything and started fresh. And then – ta-da! the desirable example-5 of galleriffic kinda works http://test.superdino.com.ua/one/futbolki.html :) (only when I'm not logged in). Though there's definitely something wrong - the footer part looks awfully broken.

And it seems that other slideshows are still not exactly working.

goldsky commented 13 years ago

If that so, that means their jQuery codes conflict with the MODX's QuickManager+ front end editor, which also uses jQuery. You should use different browser to see the result when you're logged in your manager.

cassie-frio commented 13 years ago

hi :) first of all - thank you!

So I've tried in different browsers - it seems like Mozilla 6 & IE both have the conflict with the MODX's QuickManager. Opera&Chrome are totally OK with it.

Anyway, why all the slideshows are either not showing or showing incorrectly? Is that also because of the conflict? Or do you think I did something wrong?

You've checked the links, haven't you? were the slideshows dipsplaying correctly?

I believe this has been resolved
