Chirp Update #8

Closed tpalmatier closed 12 months ago

Looks like I'm going to have to use my Windows 11 machine for Chirp. Generally I don't like Windows - I'm more of a Linux user - but at least it is reliable and up-to-date. The Linux version is unreliable. It is several updates behind.

Hey Terry,

The snap still requires manual intervention by me to push updates. I was out all last week on business so, indeed, the updates are behind.

You can install CHIRP from source if you'd like to have both the updates and Linux combo immediately. It should be immensely easier now that CHIRP no longer uses gtk2.

I definitely want to create an update mechanism so Dan can send a signal to GitHub and then GitHub updates the snap version but I haven't had time to focus on that. We'll get there eventually.
