The request

For integrations (Like P1 meter) we can use serial over IP. (Like https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/dsmr uses ser2net) I already created a workaround with socat reading out the ser2net, but can this be added in the integration? Think it helps alot of people since their HomeAssistant device is in another place than the Kamstrup meter.

This is a nice idea, but I'm not planning to do this anytime soon.

With the latest release, this component is able to connect to a remote serial connection, see https://github.com/golles/ha-kamstrup_403/releases/tag/2.5.0
