Fixes an issue described in #201 where no nodename can make it complicated to run an example benchmark run with rebar3 shell

Coverage remained the same at 86.29% when pulling f3f617106e52ea2e349baa58f41829aa7e2b12e8 on fix/shell-node into b671c6cc7965cf9035706718f3d22337e9787b65 on master.
