Glide64 had a feature in which you could disable any sort of texture smoothing. This was always really nice with hq2xs, and I was wondering if this feature will be making a return for this plugin, or if you decided to omit it? If you have decided to omit it, I'm curious to find out as to why. Thank you!

gonetz commented 9 years ago

glN64 haven't that option, and I saw no reason to implement it. It can be done if you really find it useful.

If possible, it would be nice! No rush, obviously. I know you have more important issues to solve w/ the plugin; I'd be happy just seeing it pop up down the road. I just have a fondness for low polygon models with lack of texture smoothing, like PS1 games had, and even stuff like Minecraft, and although N64 textures are admittedly low res, the texture filters make up for that easily.

I'd like to see this done. I prefer my low res textured unfiltered.

Please, add point-sampled/nearest-neighbor interpolation! Glide64mk2 and Rice both have it. The blur caused by filtering is so ugly to look at. A lot of us like to have low res textures unfiltered, it just looks right to have them like that. It's even evident from numerous issue threads talking about it. Just like users would usually disable motion blur in games or in real life by wearing glasses. Let the textures be as they are in all their glory!
