Titles of some sections include {-} to make sure they are unnumbered when the book is rendered in PDF format (the {-} is not shown). When rendered in HTML, the {-} appear in the title, and is included as such as the title of the section. I see two ways of doing this:
Find out a way of specifying unnumbered sections that is consistent across formats
Conditionally selecting different .qmd files to be rendered depending on the output format (e.g., chapter1_html.qmd and chapter1_pdf.qmd. While this seems feasible for chapters per se, it is not possible to the same with the mandatory index.qmd files, as it must be named that way across all formats.
