"Noto Sans Egyptian Hieroglyphs" font might be wrong #269

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. The font does not display any hieroglyphs.
2. Just try installing it and using it.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I thought I could type hieroglyphs instead of letters.
Maybe it's my misunderstanding. Instead I just see the usual
Latin alphabet characters.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
The latest one here:

Please provide any additional information below.
Sorry if I am not being clear or trying to do the wrong thing. I am not an
expert in fonts. Maybe it's because this I am supposed to input the write
Unicode character?
If so, please let me know which range and how should I do it!

To enter characters in a specific language you need not only a font but an
input method. I don't think there is any input method for ancient Egyptian
hieroglyphs. So, to enter these you will need to specify them with some sort of
Unicode entry - either an input method with a listing of all characters or
directly by Unicode value.
