have very little time to work on this project. ]

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. In Android 4.04, start up hacker's keyboard.
2. Press the shift key just once.
3.

What is the expected behavior? What do you see instead?

The expected behavior is that the single-quote key should turn into a
double-quote key. But, instead, the double-quote key momentarily flashes up,
but the keyboard then reverse back to the single-quote key. But pressing the
shift key for a second time will then make the double-quote key appear properly.

What version of Hacker's Keyboard are you using, for example "1.37"? (See
"Debug" section at the bottom of the app's Settings menu.)

Version 1.37.1419

On what phone or tablet?

Samsung Galaxy S2 9210T

If applicable, does this affect the 4-row or 5-row layout, or both? Which
language(s)?

Full 5-row layout in landscape mode.

Please provide any additional information below.

Sorry, I can't reproduce this. Does this only affect the quote key or any other
keys too? Do the letters remain uppercase and the blue symbol on the shift key
stay visible, or do they go lowercase / disappear too? Same for the right shift
key?

Also, try multitouch where you keep shift held down, press and release the
quote key, then release shift.
