If you're browsing a playlist (e.g., from the "Now playing" screen press the
button at the top right of the display to view the current list of tracks) then
press your device's menu button, one of the menu options is "Save current
playlist".
You'll be prompted to name the playlist, but that's it.
Did you mean something else?
As to volume control -- when Squeezer is active (i.e., you're looking at any of
Squeezer's screens, whether it's "Now playing", a playlist, a list of tracks,
or whatever) use your device's hardware volume control butons. That'll control
the volume.

I have an enhancement of this ready in my master branch, which can be included
in a future release.
The name of the current playlist (if the current playlist is a stored
playlist), is fetched from the server, and is used as the default name when
saving.
