Android 1.6 Crash on startup #601

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Run the program and it crash

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
i expected the program to run and not crash ofcourse :)

What version of XBMC Remote are you using?
the latest.

Which Android device are you using (and which ROM, if custom)?
Android 1.6 no custom ROM

Which XBMC revision are you running and on which platform?
Windows 7 Xbmx 1.x

Please provide any additional information below.

Previous version do work but latest is impossible to start it just crash at 
start :(

I get this (crash on startup) as well.
I get "Sorry! The application XBMC Remote (process org.xbmc.android.remote) has 
stopped unexpectedly.  Please try again."
every time I try to start the app.
Using xbmcremote version 0.8.8-beta1
Phone: Motorola MB300 ("Backflip")
Android version 1.5

Same here, trying to use my old G2 as my "full time" remote control for XBMC 
but only get force close.
"Sorry! The application XBMC Remote (process org.xbmc.android.remote) has

Hi ,

I am using android emulator on Eclipse .
I am getting the same problem !!! 
The App crashes on Android 1.6 , though it works fine on 4.0.3

Xbmc remote versio :: xbmcremote version 0.8.8-beta1
target type (AVD)  :: Android 1.6 (API Level 4)

I experience this crash as well. Stock Android 1.6 on Samsung Galaxy i7500. 
XBMC remote 0.8.8-beta1.

Same here, the application remote controls (process com.sev.pcw.device) has 
stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Android version  2.3.6 / samsung galaxy 
wonder GT-I8150....
