I can't connect - Socket Timeout #608

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.No idea, it just connect. I was able to use the http:// line to connect to my 
xbmc both using my phone and another computer connected to the network. so it 
doesn't seem to be a connection problem.....

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It connects, but instead I get "Socket Timeout" error.

What version of XBMC Remote are you using?
0.8.8-beta1

Which Android device are you using (and which ROM, if custom)?
HTC Desire S

Which XBMC revision are you running and on which platform?
Eden Beta on Windows 7

Please provide any additional information below.
I tried all the troubleshooting steps - as mentioned, I can connect using my 
web browser, but not using the app.
