I/O Exception (java.net.SocketException) - Permission denied #609

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Start XBMC in Windows
2.Start App, set port/IP
3.Exception pops up

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The app should connect with the pc (windows with xbmc), port and ip are right
also the other settings in xbmc.
With another app from the market it works to browse the files and controll, but
not with this app.
Instead after setting port and ip the problem shows off:
Connection Problem "I/O Exception (java.net.SocketException) - Permission
denied"
No permissions are crossed out, firewall was off.

What version of XBMC Remote are you using?

v0.8.8-beta1 rev808

Which Android device are you using (and which ROM, if custom)?

Motorola Defy MB525 with CM7.1 stable

Which XBMC revision are you running and on which platform?

Eden Beta 3, Windows 7 x64bit

Please provide any additional information below.

It is working with another XBMC Remote app from the market.

I had this issue and figured that my Android network stack was probably
confused. I tried disabling/enabling the WiFi on my device. This action in
turn fixed the problem and now it is working just fine.

cannot connect at all.

I just verified my settings on the remote, and noticed that the username was
capitalized (because android loves to do that). Check your username and
password and see if that fixes the issue. It did for me.
