When adding all the sources files included in the 2.5.2
ksoap2-android-assembly-2.5.2-jar-with-dependencies.jar the same error occurs
for axis classes and commons logging classes (which eclipse adds automagically).

I am getting this exact same error/issue
running xubuntu 10.10 maverick,
Eclipse Galileo
Eclipse SDK
Version: 3.5.2
Build id: M20100211-1343

Does that result in any actual failure in terms of the build failing or the
application not working or is is just a warning. Also do you have some more
details about the error message. And does it only occur in Eclipse or also with
the ant based build?

I am getting the same error!!!. Because of this I am not able to build my App.
I have tried by removing the class files for which the error is getting
generated, but it seems that I need to remove almost everything from the jar. I
am attaching the compile error log from eclipse.

instructions for the lib file from here:

I have tried with ant and it works. But with ADT it is not working. Is the
ksoap2-android-assembly-2.5.2-jar-with-dependencies.jar updated???(The change
log still says last updated on Nov 01, 2010.
Thanks

Try with the new release 2.5.4
Original comment by mosa...@gmail.com

I tired with all the versions and I still keep getting the error :
Conversion to Dalvik format failed with error 1
A closer look at the logs indicates that the file is an invalid archive. I
tried downloading all the jar files and the error was the same. On inspecting
further, it seems that the jar files being generated are corrupt. Please
correct me if I am wrong.
You can try downloading any jar file and attemp to view or extract the contents
using an archiver such as winrar and see what I am talking about.

I just downloaded the file from
http://code.google.com/p/ksoap2-android/source/browse/m2-repo/com/google/code/ks
oap2-android/ksoap2-android-assembly/2.5.4/ksoap2-android-assembly-2.5.4-jar-wit
h-dependencies.jar
as documented on the download page (right click on view raw file - save link
as) and extracted the file just fine with
jar -xf ksoap2-android-assembly-2.5.4-jar-with-dependencies.jar
How are you doing this? It works fine on Mac and Ubuntu.

I was following the same steps on a windows 7 professional machine.
1. Right click on file
2. Click on save link as
3. Select destination as my desktop
4. Try to add it as a library or view the contents

ksoap2-android-assembly/2.5.4/ksoap2-android-assembly-2.5.4-jar-with-dependencie
s.jar
you should get a file of 146kB size.

confusing), here is the link for the jar
