How to serialize double

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. java.lang.RuntimeException: Cannot serialize: 5.0

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Eclipse galielo,ubuntu 11.04

Please provide any additional information below.
I'm trying to pass a double to the request, ed i get 06-02

how can i do?
