Viewer unknown file types, and external viewer #254

Could the internal viewer display unknown file types in simple plain text? I 
often encounter it telling me: "Viewer is unable to display this file type." 
and it quits. 

In addition, would be terrific if there was an option of "External Viewer" I 
could set my own viewer, like ghex, and be able to bind a key to it, like 
Shift+F3.
