need to use some CF tube and flat here to make it more universal. printed parts will just be connectors. motor mounts can incorporate holes for press fit tubes.

cglusky commented 6 years ago

just using 3mm x 1mm flat CF. three strips from motor mount to three connectors. CF strip can be cut to length per rotor diam. cutting CF will be a requirement. unavoidable here. COTS prop guards also an option if cutting CF is not something users wants to tackle.

Hub and spoke design. Motor mount is hub with (3) 3 x 1 slots for CF spokes.

TODO:

  1. Order 3mm CF
  2. Design spoke connectors
  3. Print/Build/Test

This is a good way to produce some nasty vibrations. May need to change slot on motor mount to handle 6mm x 1mm carbon flat. Waiting on samples to make sure it's a good size for this application.

Looks like 3mm rod is way to go. Flats not going to work very well.

Available online cheaper and easier than we can build one.
