This dependency bump is not possible due to prost depending on bytes 0.4.
A new version of prost seems to be coming soon, with bytes bumped to 0.5.
That new version will also won't require users to depend on it explicitely anymore, which is great, so we'll be able to drop our bytes dependency altogether since we don't actually use it.

prost 0.6 has now been released ! 🎉
Now, we're waiting for a new release of tonic that bumps its prost dependency.
After that, we'll be all set to remove our bytes dependency and drop our git dependency of prost in favor of the newly released version.

Looks like bytes is no longer a dependency, so this is no longer needed.
