This issue occurs whenever the UnityPlayerActivity finishes. Using Application.Quit
or Application.Unload
both the yield same crash and it's not a helpful stack trace given that its release compiled with no access to the source.
We leverage UAAL (Unity As A Library) pattern and this is a blocking issue for us to ship our product. Do we have any updates or solutions to this issue?
Try downgrading to Unity 2018.4.12f1 LTS. BTW this crash is in Unity not in ARCore SDK (not 100% sure though).
Our product was on 2018.1.0f2, I've tried the latest releases (even 2018.4.12f1 LTS) into 2019.3 beta. The issue is not reproducible without Unity ARCore SDK, so I believe it is internal the Unity ARCore SDK. We've tried using the Unity ARCore XR Plugin and this issue does not occur, so it is unique to this library.
AFAIK, there are many Unity versions which has a crash on Application.Quit(). You can test it in an empty project. Till now, I found these version which does not have that crash: 2018.4.12f1 LTS 2019.2.6f1 2019.2.11f1 Hope it helps!
having crash using Unity 2019.3.0f6
work fine in Unity 2018.4.17f1 LTS

Unity has fixed this issue starting in the following versions: 2018.4.24 2019.3.15 2020.1.b10 2020.2.a11
