I18n the sandbox theme and add language files #2

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
I want the basic theme to be i18n to support multiple languages. I already
started to work on that, using the Code Igniter features of language files.
I will submit my work soon and will provide 2 language files to start with.

I added the first language files and modified the sandbox theme. I'm really new
to
hg, although I used git for a while now. I'm using the *hg diff* for my first
contributions, because I don't want to mess up the repository with my things.
;-)

Hm, I think I made a mistake when pushing to the repository now. I wanted to
have it
in the i18n branch, but it's gone into the main repository now. :-(

That is perfectly fine, branching ought to happen to point out the direction
you are
taking development but the main repository is for working code so it isn't a
requirement that the code in default function at all.

Its only going to matter when we go into code freeze, in that case you are
going to
want to push your fixes into the release branch.

I'm used to the branching/merging terminology of Subversion, so I need to get
into
the push/pull/rebase things of the DVCS's soon. ;-) I'm quite comfortable with
release and feature branches, so it shouldn't be a long process. But I wanted
to try
the private clone for my developments at the same time, and I think I got lost
somewhere in between... anyway, because of the DVCS nothing will get lost
fortunatly.
