Movie list contains two instances of same movie

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.On the XBMC server create a folder with the name of the movie (e.g. "Avatar 
(2009)" )
2.Inside this folder, place the movie file with a similar name also containing 
the title (e.g. "Avatar (2009).mkv")

When browsing movies from the "all movies" listing, this movie will appear 
twice but only one is playable.

XBMC Remote v0.8.2-beta1

Which Android device are you using (and which ROM, if custom)?
HTC Desire Android 2.1 update1 (b 1.21.405.2)

Which XBMC revision are you running and on which platform?
xmbc.exe file version 9.11

How many times does it appear in XBMC's interface when you list it in library 
mode?

I have the same problem, almost all movies show up twice on the phone, with 
different imdb-scores. One with score, and one with 0. The one with 0 is 
playable. 
On the xmbc they only show up once.

I have a similar problem.  All of my MKVs are in a single "Movie" folder.  The 
remote app shows some of them 3 times, some 4 and some twice.  In some cases, 
it shows a different thumbnail for each of the instances to the same movie.

I'm having the same problem on my HTC Desire running Android 2.3. My XBMC 
(11.0) library only shows the movies once and the problem is not present on TV 
Shows...

I'm getting a similar problem with the remote app.  All my movies are in 
individual directories under the MOVIES folder on xbmcbuntu.  Likewise my tv 
shows are listed under the TV SHOWS folder and in subfolders by show and 
season.  However I'm getting multiple instances of the same movie or tv show in 
the library listings on my phone.  It's guesswork to on the right lisiting on 
my phone to correctly start the show or movie or show episode.  It's not a bug 
with my phone, my husband has the same problem with his.  I use an optimus, he 
uses an infuse. I have rescanned my library several times and deleted files 
that weren't needed for replay. It's annoying and a minor inconvenience, but 
I'd like to know how to fix it.  I should mention I didn't have this bug when 
my media files were on a windows system before transferring to xbmcbuntu.
