Hi Mark,

We need some assistance for the producer below.
They had mis-keyed their PayPal account email on the Farmhouse Direct site
which has meant the payment for their orders is in “limbo” against the
wrong email address.

The wrong email address was entered as deva@aussiteahouse.com.au
The actual email address should be deva@aussieteahouse.com.au
The first one is missing an “e” after aussi.
20120424320001 24 Apr 2012, 10:29 PM Angela Malone Paid $68.78 – We need to
find these funds and transfer to deva@aussieteahouse.com.au. Then we can
inform Deva to ship the goods.

The following content is from the PayPal website help, but it does not explain
how they “confirm the new email address” – can you help us to understand?

A payment may be Unclaimed for one of the following reasons:
• Your recipient did not sign up with PayPal using the same email address
that you used to send the money. The recipient simply needs to add this email
address to his or her account (s/he can add up to eight addresses) and confirm
the new email address. The money will then immediately appear in his or her
balance

Here's how to add the new email address:
1. Log in to your account.
2. Click Profile near the top of the page.
3. Click Update beside ‘Email.'
4. Click Add.
5. Enter your new email address and click Save.

Cheers,
Rob

Hi Mark,

Attached are screen captures to illustrate how the situation has occurred.

We would welcome a solution from PayPal that can stop this situation occurring
in the future.

Cheers,
Rob

Hi Rob,

Spoke to Mark and Jimmie moments ago.

Billing Agreement issue = we can try to extract the final email address used
after billing agreement has been entered into, and overwrite this email address
in our system.

Hi Mon,

As discussed, please see the feedback from PayPal regarding the “clean up
process” for Aussie Tea House.
As part of Release 4.1, Roy is working on a change to ensure that this cannot
occur in the future (see issue 68 in the log).

1. I have confirmed the only way to resolve the payment in limbo is one of the
following ways;

a) Buyer to Cancel Payment
Please note the user can cancel the payment via their PayPal account as follows;
i. Go to www.paypal.com and log in to your account.
ii. Click ‘History’ near the top of the page.
iii. Click ‘Cancel’ under ‘Order status/Actions’ next to your unclaimed
transaction.
iv. Click ‘Cancel Payment.’
v. Remember that you can only cancel unclaimed payments. If your payment is
complete, you’ll need to contact the recipient of the payment and request a
refund.

b) Wait for payment to be classified as unclaimed and this will automatically
be credited back to the original funding source (approx. 30 days).

2. Once this is done a new send money request can be done to the email address
OR alternatively payment collected via a direct deposit or CC payment.

I am unable to confirm what funding source the buyer used, I don’t have
access to this information and upon further investigation I can’t request
this for you as it is against our Anti Money Laundering practices.

Cheers,
Rob

Hi Mark,

Just to let you we have contacted the buyer.
She has a PayPal account. She cancelled the original payment and then
processed a new send money request to the merchant.

Thank you for your assistance.

Going forward, Roy will be implementing the suggested billing agreement changes
to avoid this happening again and will be in touch with Jimmie if needs
technical support (for dev and testing).

Cheers,
Rob

Our technical resolution:

- During PayPal Billing Agreement process
- Check the email (PayPalID) used to enter the agreement with
- If email different from PayPal ID, send email to admin, update database with
new paypal id
