Photo cropping as part of upload /confirm #75

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Some producers do not have imaging software to adjust photos - so FHD have been
doing some cropping for them.

This new functionality could improve on boarding and maintenance efficiency.

Daniel, Rob and Roy to discuss further (in meeting on Wednesday 20th June).
Areas to consider:
(1) Do we keep the source image or does the crop image get uploaded?
(2) Consider small and medium thumbnails
(3) Consider product page image display (if based on cropped will click open
the source image?)
(4) Consider producer stall page image display (if based on cropped will click
open the source image?)

Library demo

Crop feature - aspect ratio won't be fixed like the demo
http://deepliquid.com/projects/Jcrop/demos.php?demo=live_crop

Thumbnail feature
http://deepliquid.com/projects/Jcrop/demos.php?demo=thumbnail

We can start when work flow has been decided.

From the document:
1 - Admin views are the same with producer
2 - we will give the crop page a go.
3 - i presume we keep the original image and display that?
4 - we can increase the maximum pic size to 2mb (instead of the 1mb to resolve
some size restriction issues)

We did not increase max size of pic to 2mb, kept it at 1mb

In the crop screen, the original picture in its original resolution is shown

if the pic is larger than the screen, the cropping area is only restricted to
the size of the screen (script can not go off screen)

Pressing "Update product" button after attempting to crop the image causes it
to lose the "Main image" status even if there is only one image uploaded.

Will need to step Mon and Viv through this process and get their feedback
before approving.

Roy, just a few changes need to be made to the cropping pages:

- After cropping an image the product page should display the cropped image
(currently the only way to see the cropped image is to set the image as main)
- Crop image page should display the source/original image and also the
"preview" cropped result (same functionality as the thumbnail page)
- Thumbnail chooser page the button should display the text "Choose thumbnail"
instead of "Crop image"

Let me know if you need further clarification regarding this.

Roy, the functionality of the crop image and thumbnail chooser tool are now
correct. There is one last modification which needs to be made to the product
page, I've attached a document describing what is required. Thanks.

Changed from Large resized image to Cropped resize image.

There will always be a "cropped" image since we manipulate the original image
(to prevent the scenario of a 3000px image)

Now - lightbox will popup an image that will be cropped when it is cropped, and
not a cropped image if it hasn't been cropped.

Tested functionality for the lightbox and is now displaying the cropped image
instead of the source (if a cropped picture is available) - accepted
