To verify that everything updated correctly, simply search your old blog’s 
page 
source after updating, and you will know that all is good if you see the 
following 
info at the top:

<head><link rel="canonical" href="[New Blog URL]" /> 

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="30;url=[New Blog URL]" />
