I had the exact same issue, but after noting the version of GTK recommending in
the
dependencies list I uninstalled my more recent version for version gtk+-2.10.13-
setup.exe.

I hope all goes well!

I actually faced the same problem. Upon investigating the version of GTK that
was
installed, I noted I had 2.12.x installed. I uninstalled that and used GTK+
2.10.13
and it worked fine. Seems like BlueFish has some problem with the newer version
of
GTK+.

Just a little follow up on this one. After changing my version of GTK to allow
bluefish to work, I have noticed that Pidgin no longer has any of the "icons"
with
int he app. Everything is a white box with a small red "X" in it instead of
the
online, offline, away, and other status icons with in the app.

and hopefully a final update. Upon reinstalling Pidgin, and allowing it to
install
its more updated version of GTK, both applications work with out any problems.
Bluefish loads with out any errors, and Pidgin also loads with the icons that
were
gone previously.

Had the same problem. I added the directory containing iconv.dll to my system
path.
Problem solved.

I also had the same issue but I think it's because GTK DLL's, located into
program
files/common files/gtk/2.0/bin are put into the windows PATH env. variable and
thus
our fav' OS needs to be restarted to start redirecting Bluefish right here.
