brightness cannot be adjusted #26

Hi,

I cannot adjust the brightness anymore from the option/system menu. The slider 
moves, but it has no effect.

toggle r_ignorehwgamma in the console, this might fix it (needs a vid_restart)

It works, kind of. The problem is that the image is now a bit too bright, and 
there is no brightness slider in the options anymore. Is it deactivated when 
using ignorehwgamma??
